How HelloPhone Began

Poul Lemasters spent years in deathcare law. He'd seen what a mishandled phone call could cost a funeral home — not just a lost family, but real legal exposure. Families who didn't get the information they needed. Arrangements made with no one in their corner.


The professionals weren't indifferent. Most of them cared deeply. The problem was simpler — and harder — than that: nobody had given them the training, the tools, or the systems this profession demands. 


So Poul built Dead Ringers around one conviction: close the gap between what families deserve and what they're getting, by investing in the professionals who serve them.


Dead Ringers' work kept running into the same wall: the phone systems deathcare firms were using weren't built for them. Generic VoIP or landlines — no visibility into where calls came from, what was happening on them, or whether coaching was making any difference. The data existed. The evaluation existed. The coaching existed. The phone system was a black box.


The tool this profession needed didn't exist. So we built HelloPhone.
